Palm Incorporated is reportedly preparing to launch the latest version of its Treo smart phone in September 2006.
According to a spokesperson for the company, the official announcement for the Gen-Next Treo model will be made on September 12 in the UK. Till then, the details of the upcoming model will remain sketchy. The move is being seen as vital, since the company is trying to revive sales which took a hit due to competition, as also problems reported with respect to previous models. Incidentally, the company had discontinued sales of its previous Treo 650 model because of the phone's incompatibility with a newly introduced phone technology standard. Palm says the new Treo will be available to Vodafone customers in European countries, including UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Netherlands some time in the fourth quarter of 2006. |
