Boston - Microsoft issues a warning to customers on
Monday, informing them of active, targeted attacks being carried out in
the Snapshot Viewer ActiveX control used for Microsoft Access.
When people use Microsoft Access, they usually pull up Snapshop Viewer to view the database report snapshot, as they can be created easily with any version. Microsoft stated that these attacks work through a flaw which could allow an attacker to gain full rights onto your computer system. The ActiveX control, which allows the attacks, ahs been shipped with all supported versions of Microsoft Office Access except for the 2007 version. There are some manual workarounds in place, such as a feature in IE to block ActiveX control from being loaded. Copyright © 2007 dBTechno |
