 As we mentioned last month, Microsoft Excel 2007 was plagued by a fairly serious math flaw that could affect spreadsheet data. Today, the Excel team at Microsoft has released a patch which addresses the issue.
At the moment the updates are only available through the Microsoft website, though the company says you can expect them to show up in Windows Update in the very near future. If you need the fix right now, head over to the Excel blog where you’ll find links to both 32 and 64 bit versions. The flaw in question involved the calculation of numbers around 65,535 and 65,536, which were displayed incorrectly in Excel 2007. The issue does not affect earlier version of Excel.
