Java on Vista Keep the Glass

I can't say I am the biggest fan of the Sun JRE, but since Sun and the US legal system put the kabash on the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine we aren't able to be picky these days. If you have been testing the Sun JRE on Windows Vista at all you would know then once you invoke a java applet it would disable Aero Glass, well untill recently that is according to Chet Hasse's Blog. Chet is an architect in the Java client group at Sun and his post has all the wonderful details on the problems they have been facing porting over to Windows Vista. It's a good read if you are into long technical posts.

The bottom line is that Java SE 6, which is currently in Beta, is going to be what Sun recommends for Windows Vista. My secret desire is that people migrate off of the Java platform. Think it will happen?
