During a press conference on Thursday, August 16, Sun President and CEO Jonathan Schwartz and IBM Senior Vice President and Group Executive William Zeitler jointly presented the news. The companies will jointly invest in system optimization to make Solaris run as efficiently as possible on IBM servers. Sun will provide support for Solaris. To date, IBM has supported SUSE Linux, Red Hat and various Windows offerings. |
