There have been so many special edition Nintendo DS Lite gaming devices, I
think I've lost track. But if you or someone you know is a huge Super Mario
Bros. fan, then check out this limited edition Mario Red DS.
The bright red Nintendo DS Lite features the Mario logo, and comes bundled
with a copy of the Super Mario Bros. game. Wired
unboxed this hot little number, and predicts it will fly
off shelves when it goes on sale on November 28th.

Total lifetime sales of the Wii console in Japan have hit 7 million
units, according to a report by research firm and Famitsu magazine
publisher Enterbrain, as translated by blog site Kotaku.
Launched in Japan on December 2nd, 2006, the new milestone includes all
sales in the country up to November 23rd, 2008. By comparison lifetime
sales of the PlayStation 3 in Japan stand at around 2.5 million units
and the Xbox 360 around 800,000 units.
Although easily the best-selling home console in Japan, the Wii’s
dominance in its home country is not quite as total as in the West. The
console is regularly outsold, often by a significant margin, by both
the Nintendo DS and PSP – although software sales have remained strong.

According to Dean Hachamovitch, Internet Explorer general manager at Microsoft, the company will not be able to reach its goal of releasing version 8 of its browser by the end of this year and instead will begin shipping the product in 2009.
The general public beta will hit during the Q1 2009, with the final release following soon behind it.
An initial beta was released in March, and a second beta was released in August. Microsoft had hoped to have a final release by the end of 2008, but there appears to be delays.

That's possible under a new system Google Inc. unveiled Thursday. Hoping to give its search engine a more personal touch, Google now lets users reshuffle results so their favorite Web sites get top billing and disliked destinations get discarded the next time they enter the same request.
We’d noticed an increasing number of people emailing on a large-scale bucket test (a product change tested on just a percentage of total users) that Google has been conducting for months - adding a Digg-like voting feature to search results (which also changes the ranking) as well as user comments.

Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) has been arranging computer fair for many years. Until now, the fair was known as ‘BCS Computer Show’. This year, the name of the show is “BCS ICT WORLD 2008.” BCS organizers are expecting that more than 150,000 visitors would turn up for the five-day (17-21 November 2008) long fair. The venue is Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre.
I worked with Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) in BCS Computer Show 2004 and BCS Computer Show 2005. I helped them with media support. I can tell you from my own experience that it is indeed a fair that attracts people from all walks of life. If you are living outside of Bangladesh then there is a good possibility that you will see about political unrest and natural disaster of Bangladesh getting a lot of coverage in international media. If you come to computer fairs in Bangladesh, I am sure that you will have to change your perception about the country. You will get amazed to see so many people so much enthusiastic about computer and information technology.

Developers have been touting voice recognition as the future of mobile apps for a few years now. Various hurdles have stood in the way of large-scale adoption, though: For one thing, the technology was often not up to the standards of many consumers. For another, the concept of talking at a phone feels a bit strange. Surely if a big-name player entered the picture, users would be a bit more eager to try things out.
Google is by no means the first company to attempt voice-based search on a mobile phone--or even on the iPhone. But it is, at least in the case of the latter, the most well-known to try it; and for that reason alone, the introduction of the company's new voice-based mobile search for the iPhone may be enough to help jump-start the industry in a big way.
